Bed Bug Allergies

Besides the unsanitary issues related to bed bugs, many people are allergic to them and reactions can range from mild itching to more severe respiratory issues. Bed bug reproduction rate is very high and an infestation can grow very quickly if not dealt with early.

We Pursue Excellence

Bed bugs can travel on clothing, luggage, bedding, furniture, briefcases, shoes boxes, as well as humans. Although bed bugs prefer human blood-meals over animals, bed bugs can travel on animals and pets.

Average life span of a bed bug is 10 -12 months. Female lay between 5 – 7 eggs per week and up to 500 in a lifetime. Eggs hatch within 6 – 12 days and can become an adult in 35 – 28 days.

Sleep tight don’t let the bed bugs bite.

Bed bugs are an exceptionally common problem in today’s highly mobile world. Contrary to popular opinion, they do not reflect poverty or poor hygiene practices. In fact their rampant spread is due to the frequency with which they interact with humans. Bed bugs are a parasite that feed on humans but do not transmit and known illnesses.

Bed Bug Habits

They generally come out late at nights to feed on exposed skin while sleeping. Bed bug’s saliva contains a numbing agent and anti-coagulate that prevents humans from feeling the beak piercing the skin and allow blood to flow more freely. Feeding time can be from 4 to 10 minutes and once full will immediately scamper off to their hiding place to digest their meal. Usually, bed bugs feed every 10 to 15 days but can go months without a bloodmeal.
